How To Get From Samui Airport To Koh Phangan

This guide explains how to travel from Koh Samui Airport to Koh Phangan, which can only be done by ferry.

First, you need to reach one of the ferry piers offering Koh Phangan departures.

Unfortunately, Koh Phangan doesn’t have its own airport, the closest airport to Koh Phangan is Samui International Airport (USM).

Airport Taxi + Ferry to Koh Phangan

Once you’ve landed at Koh Samui Airport, you can take a taxi from the airport to one of the piers. From there, you can purchase a ferry ticket to Koh Phangan and be on your way!

The first ferry of the day leaves Koh Samui at 8:00 AM, and the last departs Koh Samui at 6:00 PM.

The ferry takes 30 to 45 minutes to get to Koh Phangan from Koh Samui, and the distance is around 20 km and ferry prices range from $5 to 7 US.

Pre-Book Transfer + Ferry to Koh Phangan

Similar to the first way but slightly different, another way to get to Koh Phangan is to pre-book a taxi and ferry transfer to Koh Phangan, which makes things so much easier!

That way, you won’t need to worry about finding a taxi at Samui Airport, a taxi will be waiting for your arrival instead.

Depending on the time and ferry company, an airport transfer and ferry trip to Koh Phangan will cost you around $10 to 15 US, this price includes both transfers.

When you arrive at the pier, your driver will hand out your ferry tickets and tell you where to go to board your ferry.
