The best time to visit Da Nang is during the dry season, from February through August. However, each month during the dry season is slightly different, and you may prefer to visit one month over another.

The worst time to visit Da Nang is during the monsoon season, also known as the rainy season by many, which is from September through January. Remember that some months during the monsoon season have a higher probability of rain than others.

February is an excellent time to visit. The weather is comfortable, making it ideal for exploring outdoor attractions like the Marble Mountains or relaxing at My Khe Beach.

March — Warm & Dry

As the dry season continues, the weather becomes more consistent in March, with plenty of sunshine throughout the day and minimal chances of rainfall.

Temperatures start to rise slightly, ranging from a high of 29°C (84°F) to an average low of 22°C (72°F).

With warm weather, plenty of sunshine, and a low probability of rainfall, March is a great time to visit and enjoy all the attractions and activities Da Nang offers!

April — Warm & Low Humidity

April continues the ideal dry seasonal weather in Da Nang. The weather is warm and dry, with low humidity levels, making it comfortable for outdoor activities.

The average temperature ranges from a high of 31°C (88°F) to an average low of 24°C (75°F).

April is one of the best times to visit the city and experience its many outdoor attractions. The comfortable weather makes it perfect for visiting Ba Na Hills or taking a day trip to Hoi An.

May — Hot & Low Humidity

May brings hotter temperatures to Da Nang, but humidity levels remain relatively low. It’s still part of the dry season, offering consistent sunny weather.

During May, temperatures range from a high of 34°C (93°F) to an average low of 25°C (77°F).

May is an excellent time for beach activities and water sports at My Khe Beach. The evenings are pleasant, perfect for enjoying the city’s vibrant nightlife.

June — Hot & Dry

June is one of the hottest months in Da Nang, but it’s still part of the dry season. The weather is consistently sunny, with lesser chances of rainfall.

During June, temperatures range from a high of 35°C (95°F) to an average low of 26°C (79°F).

Despite the heat, June is a great time to visit if you enjoy hot weather and want to take advantage of the city’s beautiful beaches and outdoor attractions.

July — Hot & Dry

July continues the hot and dry weather pattern in Da Nang. It’s the peak of summer with consistently high temperatures and minimal rainfall.

The city’s average temperature in July ranges from 35°C (95°F) to lows around 26°C (79°F).

July is perfect for beach lovers and those who enjoy water activities. It’s also a great time to visit the Son Tra Peninsula and Lady Buddha statue, as the clear skies offer excellent views.

I highly recommend visiting the Lady Buddha statue at sunrise. You’ll be met with stunning panoramic views of Da Nang and its coastline!

August — Hot with Occasional Showers

August marks the transition from the dry to the wet season in Da Nang. While still mostly dry, you might experience occasional short showers.

In August, average temperatures range from a high of 34°C (93°F) to lows around 26°C (79°F).

August is still a good time to visit, with plenty of sunny days and the occasional rain, which can provide a refreshing break from the heat.

Worst Time to Visit Da Nang by Month

September — Rainy & Humid

As the rainy season begins in Da Nang, September arrives with increased rainfall and humidity. However, it’s not as intense as in later months.

The average temperature in September ranges from 32°C (90°F) to lows around 25°C (77°F).

While there’s more rain, September still offers many sunny intervals. It’s a good time to visit if you don’t mind occasional showers and want to avoid peak tourist season.

October — Very Rainy & Humid

October is one of the rainiest months in Da Nang, with frequent heavy showers and occasional storms.

Typically, the temperature reaches highs of around 30°C (86°F) and lows of 24°C (75°F).

October isn’t ideal for outdoor activities in the middle of the day. Still, it’s a good time to explore attractions like the Cham Museum, enjoy Da Nang’s culinary scene, and explore around in the evening.

November — Rainy & Cool

November continues the rainy season in Da Nang, with frequent rainfall but slightly cooler temperatures.

The average temperature in November ranges from 28°C (82°F) and lows of 23°C (73°F).

While not the best time for beach activities, November is a good month to visit cultural sites and enjoy the city’s indoor attractions.

December is not ideal for outdoor activities, but it can be an excellent time to experience Da Nang’s holiday atmosphere and enjoy indoor attractions.

January — Cool with Decreasing Rain

January marks the end of the rainy season in Da Nang. While still cool, rainfall decreases towards the end of the month.

The average temperature in January ranges from 25°C (77°F) and lows of 20°C (68°F).

January can be an excellent time to visit if you prefer cooler temperatures and don’t mind some rain. It’s also less crowded than the peak tourist months.

High Season in Da Nang

From February through August, Da Nang experiences its peak travel season. With favorable weather of warm days, low humidity, and pleasant nights, visitors come to explore Vietnam’s coastal gem.

For those who prefer smaller crowds, visit during the shoulder months of February or August. Both offer favorable weather but with fewer tourists in the city.

Off Season in Da Nang

The off-season in Da Nang is from September through January, and visiting during this time can be risky, but as mentioned before, some months are better than others.

Frequent rainfall, occasional storms, and higher humidity levels make for a less ideal visit during the off-season.

Tourist crowds are lower during this time as many tourists avoid the rainy season in the city. Flights, hotels, and even some tours in the city are discounted during the off-season as agencies are enticing travelers to visit during the off-season.

Despite some months of rainfall, there are still plenty of indoor activities in the city, such as visiting the Cham Museum, exploring shopping centers, enjoying the local cuisine, and relaxing in Da Nang’s many cafes and spas.

My Khe Beach is the most popular tourist area in Da Nang. Staying here means quick access to the beach and many restaurants and shops. It’s the best area for first-time visitors looking to experience the city’s coastal charm!
